lyrics

Listen to me señorita
To all the thoughts that haunt my mind
A brutal senseless action
And a confession of a loveless crime
The shotgun's empty
And in the name of lust
She tempted me
Until I'd had enough
I often promise things
I never keep my promises
A time of warning
A subtle kiss
I never thought it would come to this

Not to mention the things I love
But you never mention the things I love
A moment taken to collect a thought
A confrontation in a parking lot
No time for names just stumbling fingers
On unfamiliar flesh and triggers
A moment's whim to soon seduce her
To a quickly dark and empty future

And all the movie stars in hollywood
Overemphasize the looking good
And all the beautiful faces in magazines
Just adding insult to injury
Well I could never be a movie star
I could never be anything at all
And she could never make the effort
To try to understand me
I used to promise things
My promises were useless
She bit the bullet
I took the fall
Look into your crystal ball

Tell me the future
Tell me where I will go
Tell me the truth
But don't tell me anything that I already know
I've got a life that I'm dying to live
I think there are some things that not even God can forgive

So listen to me señorita
What is it that you see
Can you read my palms and my life lines
And tell me what will happen to me
I have to know my future

Now here they come
God what have I done
I never thought that it would come to this
The future scares me so
Vague and unpredictable
Help me now
Help me alter it

The band played up and down California, were popular at the UCD Whole Earth Festival, had a standing last-Friday-of-the-month gig at Hotel Utah in San Francisco, and were regulars at the Palms Playhouse when it was in Davis, Ca.
