lyrics

Last week when I said I was out
You told yourself you shoulda known better
Your Irish fisherman's sweater lost its clout

But this week since you left for the coast
I've taken back my letters and my numbers
Your Asian Indian summers in the post

And the mailman retired and you've eaten your Phil
And the milkman was fired and you're still on the pill
But then Talia Shire and Agnes Demille say
Someone's got to do the thing for Jill

Out west where the winters are warm
Your mother and your daughter go shopping
It's Hollywood bed-hopping true to form

Scrap books holding marbles and string
Enlisted for the use of another
Parisian Don Juan lover, American king

And you're counting your sheep and your hand's in the till
And El Gato's asleep on the windowsill still
But then Meryl Streep and Sarah Purcell say
Someone's got to do the thing for Jill

The band played up and down California, were popular at the UCD Whole Earth Festival, had a standing last-Friday-of-the-month gig at Hotel Utah in San Francisco, and were regulars at the Palms Playhouse when it was in Davis, Ca.

The band broke up in 1996.
