lyrics

"The problem," she said, "is useful," and said,
"It's far more to pilfer than try and use your head."

A plant in her hand
A smile on her face
Oh look out, you're doing fine
And open up the door

The same old good guys
You've known all your life
But now you'd rather eat pie
Than try and use your head

In Hamlet's soliloquy
The poets go to bed
It's safer to criticize
Than try and use your head

The rain falls from the sky
The mud seeps through my skin
I dream of my neighbors
And I try to use my head

The problem is clear
It's ringing in your ear
Just hold on and sit back
And try to use your head

In a vat full of soup
You hang on to my scoop
It's better just to disregard
Than stand within a group

But still you apologize
The voices in my head
And still I acknowledge-ize
You try to use your head

The rain falls from the sky
The mud seeps through my skin
I dream of my neighbors
And I try to use my head

The poets and preachers
Have teeth that are rotting
Their brains are of jelly
To eat their swill of cotton

But cynics will argue
And tell them they are wrong
But try not to worry
And try and use your head

And now you should realize
The problem in your mind
The plants are all dying
You watered them last week

The rain falls from the sky
The mud seeps through my skin
I dream of my neighbors
And I try to use my head

The band played up and down California, were popular at the UCD Whole Earth Festival, had a standing last-Friday-of-the-month gig at Hotel Utah in San Francisco, and were regulars at the Palms Playhouse when it was in Davis, Ca.

The band broke up in 1996.
