lyrics

There's a city where I'd like to be
Where they serve minors alcohol
It will be a fun place to be
'Cuz I'll get drunk 'til the bars close

I need my dose of alcohol
But I left my I.D. at home
They won't serve me here
So I go to the Special City
Where they'll serve me beer

There's a city where I'd like to be
Where everyone looks the same
Everyone but me
Everyone surrounds me bowing at my feet
They think I'm a God but I'm really not well

It's fun to be treated like an idol
For absolutely nothing at all
Everything is so nice and beautiful
Just like the TV set from the Waltons

It's a Special City of my own creation
Lodged in the corners of my mind
It's my home. Home sweet home.

There's a city where I'd like to be
When I need a touch of fantasy
There's a knocking (knock-knock-knock)
That's coming from my ear
It's my brother poking me

There are too many people in the world today
For me to live on minimum wage
How can I enjoy my life while I am working cashier
At the Wendy's 'round the corner
I have to fry up burgers and I spill shake on my shoes
Oh what am I going to do when a little old lady
Comes walking in asking, "Where's the beef?"
I tell her I don't know, I don't know, I don't know
I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know
I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know

The band played up and down California, were popular at the UCD Whole Earth Festival, had a standing last-Friday-of-the-month gig at Hotel Utah in San Francisco, and were regulars at the Palms Playhouse when it was in Davis, Ca.

The band broke up in 1996.
